I am audition reaper and since I longer can use my built in plug ins in vegas pro 10. It can says, " The plug in could not be run One or more components required to run this plug in may be missing. If a hardware key (dongle O is required to operate this plug in, ensure that it is properly installed. The COM object failed to initialize." What's up with that?

This is a Vegas Pro group. Links regarding Reaper and Audacity matters.

That being said, specially which plug-ins? Are they DX and/or VST?

Is VP or any of the other host apps running in the background?

I recall getting that (or a similar) error message when some of my iZotope plug-ins were inadvertently moved to another folder and needed to be re-registered. All other plug-ins worked however. Some of the SCS/Magix plug-ins only work with the SCS or Magix host apps.

Hey, Thanks for responding. I think they are the DX plug-ins. They were the ones that came with Vegas Pro 10 ( graphic and parametric eq or the dymanic etc...) They weren't third party vst, and I didn't paste dll files around and steer the browser towards the file in the preferences . Funny that my video plug-ins or effects seem to work fine. It started I think when I installed reaper and like you suggested maybe that moved my dll files around. I went looking for them but they are buried too deep. Nothing running in the background though. Any suggestions on where they may be buried or how to retrieved them. The very elementary one show up in reaper with out me having to do anything, DX:sony dither, sony expressFX audio restoration Track compression EQ Noise gate all under a DX file in reaper. I just hope when I am done audition this and I uninstall reaper my audio in Vegas comes back!

Do those 'lost' plug-ins show up in Reaper? Or.. did you uninstall another app prior to them going missing? I have had that happen. To get them back, you will probably have to re-install VP10. I doubt uninstalling Reaper will restore them

I have not read of Reaper hijacking DX (Direct X) plug-ins from Vegas Pro. I do know some DX (Direct X) plug-ins (SCS, Magix or third-party) will not work on 64 bit Vegas. For instance, my Sound Forge/iZotope DX mastering suite and Sonitus Ultrafunk DX plugs will not.

I'm using the latest version of VP16 and I'm receiving the same message, as above, and several of my audio plug-ins stopped working. To be more specific, the audio "FX plug-ins" in the Vegas folder that are not "Express FX plug-ins" stopped working and gives the above error message. The "Express FX plug-ins" all appear to be working. This problem appeared after I attempted to install the latest Acid Pro 8 update and it failed causing the computer to lock up. I had to uninstall Acid Pro and re-install the it to get the original version of Acid Pro working again. After that ordeal is when I noticed that the plug-ins were not working.
I have located some plug-in folders but I don't know what file names to search for or where I would find the replacement files if the plug-ins have been deleted. I didn't want to try re-installing VP, for this version is running smooth for me. I thought that maybe with the next VP update, the missing files would get re-installed.

Any help or comments will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
