Vegas Pro 11 and AMD video cards

I am collecting parts for a new computer, and am interested in advice on AMD video cards that will take advantage of Vegas Pro 11 (I've seen a number of threads of NiVidia, but not so much on AMD).

There is a very good reason people do not talk much about the AMD cards: it's because they are not right for the job. At least that's my opinion as an ex-AMD fan. Furthermore, a lot of the accelerated plug-ins only work with AMD cards.

my experiences with amd cards was fraught with bad drivers. they lost me long ago and judging from a great deal of noise here and over on the other boards, they're still producing bad code....

I've used both, and recently my experience with AMD has been acceptable.
