Vegas Pro 11 latest build keeps crashing

After reading the posts on the Sony forums, I guess I am not alone. I have several projects and wanted to give a more professional feel to my videos so I upgraded to Pro version from Home Studio.

No matter what I do, the program crashes. It crashes when all I have in the timeline are photos and audio track. If I try to adjust the photo, ie. aspect ration or use any of the photo plugins such as Brightness and contrast, it crashes. Then the program with hang that I can't even reopen until I shut down the process thru Task Manager. I know my computer is old, but it has the minimum requirements stated by Sony to run Vegas Pro 11. I've only been able to create one video and it was a nightmare. I had to do 2 second blocks, render and then put in the timeline. Not at all what I would expect for a good work flow process.

My next attempt will be to turn off the GPU accerlation and disable Blue Titler plug in to see if that helps.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

See if you can get your hands on a copy of version 10 which has most of the features and is much more stable.

Hi dlb, here's what I would recommend:

1) Make sure you're running the latest version of NewBlue Titler Pro.

2) Make sure your Nvidia drivers are up to date.

3) If you have a Wacom (or similar) writing/drawing tablet, or a touch-screen PC, try disabling the touch-input driver.

4) Try running Vegas Pro 11 in compatibility mode
- Right click the Vegas shortcut on your desktop, choose Properties.
- Under the Compatibility tab, check the Compatibility mode box and select either Vista or Windows 7.

Let us know if the issue persists.

1) Make sure you're running the latest version of NewBlue Titler Pro.

Please note: For some users the latest version of NB Titler Pro causes just as many crashes as any previous version. The suggestion is if you still are experiencing crashes with the latest version of NB Titler Pro, just uninstall the entire plugin. For me, I had to uninstall ALL of my NewBlue plugins, because all of the 3.0 versions were causing crashes.
