Vegas Pro 12 on a Microsoft Surface Pro

My brother just got a 128GB Microsoft Surface Pro and we just installed Vegas v12 build 486 on it. The Surface Pro has an Intel Core i5 processor running Windows Pro 8 64-bit with 4GB of RAM, it has a 10.6" 1920x1080 screen, USB 3.0 port, Wacom Pen input and he got the detachable Type keyboard. The darned thing works, I'm editing video in Vegas on a tablet!

I haven't pushed it too hard and I'm sure it will run out of horsepower as soon as I add some more tracks, but it is working, and quite well. I can definitely see a use for this. I guess now I have to buy a Surface Pro of my own.

John, we are almost: "Minority Report" - almost.

Maybe you might wish to rephrase your comment here? Could be misconstrued (lol)?

I'm editing video in Vegas on a tablet!

Whatever . . It does sound amazing.

Grazie

LOL. OK, I wasn't in Las Vegas editing video on a tablet, I was editing video on a tablet using Vegas Pro.

Very interesting John - I've yet to get my first tablet .... with external HDs on USB this could be the one!

Just wondering, but with external drives, what now becomes the benefit of "tablet"?

Same thing that becomes the benefit of a "laptop" that you can't use on your lap & still need external devices to edit with?

Surface Pro also can take a 64gb MicroXD card. The wacom tablet is a hidden gem of a feature, too, coupled with miniDisplayport 2560x1400 resolution... Interesting things ahead.
