Vegas pro 12: video fx stopped working

I have previously edited and rendered out several videos with Vegas Pro 12. These projects included video FX corrections to various clips, in particular Sony Color Curves corrections.

Something has happened. The clips in question still show a green video FX button on the timeline, and the color curves for the clips are as before, but the images in the display window do not show the corresponding corrections. These images are in fact entirely unresponsive to the Color Curves corrections (and I suspect to other video FX corrections as well).

The images are still, however, responsive to changes in the Pan/Crop window.

What have I inadvertently done to my system?

Make sure you haven't selected "Bypass FX" in the split-screen dropdown menu in the preview window.

Yes, Steve, I've been looking at that menu. There are two choices above the line, FX Bypassed, and Clipboard. Below the line are Select Left Half, Select Right Half and Select All.

Fx Bypassed gives the problem as described. Clipboard gives a black screen.

The bottom three seem to modify the two choices above the line.

Should there be another choice above the line?

You want it deselected.

The purpose of it is to do a splitscreen so you can see with fx and without. used a lot for Color correction.

How do I deselect it without selecting Clipboard (which gives a black screen?

OK, I think I finally get it. The drop down menu to the right of the split screen button needs to have Clipboard selected, and the split screen button to the left of this menu needs to be deselected.

Sorry to be so slow. Thanks for your help, Steve.
