Vegas Pro 14, GPU not detected on Desktop, but does detect on laptop.

Hello,

I know I'm using an older version of Vegas, but when I go into options - preferences - video and under where it says GPU Acceleration of Video Processing, on my desktop it only gives me the options of either OFF or the HD Graphics 530 and does not show my GTX 1060.

However, when I go on my laptop, it will show all 3 options, OFF, UHD Graphics 620, and GTX 1050.

When installed the trial of Vegas 16, that option is available. I read something about needing to upgrade, but that doesn't make any sense considering the 1050 and the 1060 are of the same generation.

Both are currently on the same build (270). What can I do to enable my 1060 on my desktop?

Specs are

i7 6700k, GTX 1060, 16GB RAM

Laptop specs are

Surface Book 2

i7 8650U, GTX 1050, 16GB RAM

I don't have any nVidia card, but I'm aware of cases when GPU suddenly disappeared from Vegas. Then it was about Windows update silently done in the background, and that changed the GPU driver.

So I would try to "downgrade" GPU drivers on the desktop, and see if it helps.

I had also this problem some time ago on my desktop and not on laptop from signature.
Due to connecting the used main monitor for the UI to the wrong connection.
How is your main monitor connected?

Using vga right now straight into the card but I can double check

SFAIK is that not possible, your Nvidia GTX 1060 has only DVI and HDMI possibilities to connect a screen. If you use a kind of converter cable maybe the data needed can not be seen by Vegas.

This occured before, as far as I can remember the user got it back by removing and reinstalling the Nvidia driver, might have to uninstall and reinstall VP as well. If that doesn’t do it use the free DDU util to completely remove all traces of gpu drivers. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
