Every single time I add a video effect (such as unsharp mask, etc.) or a transition into a video track, Vegas Pro 15 crashes. I run Windows 10, have 32GB of memory.
Does this occur on one particular project -- or all projects, including new projects?
Has Vegas Pro 15 worked for you in the past with no problems?
It happens now with any project. This particular on is a simple, B/W video clip with no audio lasting less than 4 minutes! Vegas Pro 15 has worked fine in the past for me, but in the last 3-4 month I have experienced this and other problems.

Some system change has likely occurred .. especially video card driver update ? .. Consider rolling back your system to a restore point where all was well?
If that sounds too radical, try uninstall and reinstall of Vegas first .. or Turn off GPU acceleration .. Look here for other suggestions?

Of interest, when I use Vegas Pro 13 (that I still have) for the same project and add effects, although the rendering is much slower, it does not crash!

I did (in Vegas Pro 15) as you suggested go in "Preferences" > "Video" > "GPU acceleration of video processing" and changed from what I had before (I didn't even know): Intel HD graphics 630 to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti and after that I had no further issues with inserting effects!! I owe you! :).
