Vegas Pro 15 - Missing center (anchor?) pointer in preview window

Hello everyone, I am adding a screenshot of what the pointer looks like and where it is supposed to show for clarification. This is probably an option that needs to be ticked on but I can't locate this info anywhere.

 

When using fx like 's_blurmocurves' I'm not able to play with the center parameter via the preview window. I can use the effect but without it specific centering becomes guesswork.

 

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

I am unfamiliar with 'Lense FX'. However, I know of 'Lens Flare FX' -- I've tried it, unfortunately, there is no center anchor/pointer. Although I don't see a center parameter either.

Searching for Lense didn't pull up any options.

Anyone? I've tried the terms cursor, center anchor/point, and center parameter. I've also tried uninstalling/reinstalling. I can't move on with my current project as I can't focus the pointer anywhere definitive.

However, I'm starting to think this may be an issue with the FX itself.

I would like to test another FX with a center parameter and/or pointer to verify. I own Sapphire & Boris by the way. Can someone recommend an FX to try? Thank you

Even if you can't move the center cross directly on the preview (I don't know why this don't work for VP15 build 384), you can always move that center point within your FX adjustments.

This true. However I am replicating iphone/android text message for a scene using the s_blurmocurves FX and need to position the center cross at the tail end of each speech bubble. Currently I can't tell within the FX adjustments where the tails are so the messages "pop-up" from odd angles.

I don't know either. I can't seem to find anyone experiencing something similar
