Vegas Pro 16 and HitFilm Pro

Roberto65 wrote on 11/29/2018, 8:56 AM

Hi,

I have a question/doubt.
In the pdf manual of VP 16 is written that it is possible to embed projects from HitFilm 4 as events.
Last HitFilm version is 11.
So, is this feature really limited to HitFilm 4 or does it work also for the latest HitFilm version 11 (in such a case the pdf should be corrected...) ?

Thanks

Roberto

Imho, VP16 works fine with HitFilm Pro 16 (in the way the media used in Vegas Pro could be send directly to HitFilm and Vegas Pro would update that file once you saved the HitFilm project (or import *.hfp files)). Just be sure HitFilm Pro is installed after Vegas Pro.

However, be mindful that not all HitFilm plug-ins are up to date with Vegas and some do not work. However, as far as creating an effect or composite shot and bringing it into Vegas as a .png sequence, you shouldn't have any trouble. IMHO, I have found HF extremely sluggish to work with and only use it for very short special effect sequences.

Thanks.

In reality I mentioned about importing a HF project, i.e. inserting a .hlp file as an event and not pre-rendering in HF and then importing the result in VP
Anyway, I am curious, Karma17: what are the main issues you experienced with HF Pro ?

It's still available for me in build 352. Try reinstalling HitFilm Pro.

Have re-installed HFP, which now works again, thanks [[MENTION:undefined]] [[MENTION:72404]] DOT. ;-)

However, I cannot 'Apply Hitfilm Effect' to a Subclip, it leads to an error message: 'The file could not be created'.

This is painful if you need to create subclips for a meaningful VP Stabilization to occur prior to further HF treatment, Mocha tracking etc..

Is this a knows issue [[MENTION:72423]] ? I know that you can't apply HF to an Empty Event (sadly) but Subclips??

That's just the way it works. Subclips can be read solely inside Vegas Pro.

Except render the clip after added with MediaFXs.
