Vegas Pro 17 Lag After Many Edits

DARK0717 wrote on 4/2/2020, 3:43 AM

So im lagging like, ultra in Vegas Pro 17 after editting for a while, and not just that, vegas will start not responding for a few seconds to a minute and its a 50% chance of crashing. By now im used to constantly pressing ctrl+s to save, its frustrating, Ive tried increasing the RAM in the preferences but increasing it higher than 4 GB makes rendering impossible as it gets stuck or crashes. Ive noticed the lag to signifcantly get reduced when I upgraded the hard drive im using which is faster than the old one. Tho I dont have a pool of money to upgrade again, so any software fixes for this?

Depends on what your hardware config is. If you have less than 16GB for 1080p material, or less than 32GB for 4k material, you don't meet the minimum required memory specs for Vegas 17 to run properly.

What are your system specs?

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

If you don't use that option, better ler it default or 0

i have it on 2 gb as it is stable

That was not the question, the question was do you use the dynamic RAM Preview option in the menu Tools?

What means "stable"? Your question and "frustration" is about more and more lag of the program

One thing to get out of the way, as it can help often. make sure you have the latest nvidia studio drivers (not game ready) installed.
