When I load a mov. movie from my iPhone I can see the video and sound file in the track. I can hear the audio but cannot see the movie in the preview screen. I have downloaded QuickTime and enabled the plugin in preferences/depreciated features. Still the preview screen stays black.
Is there something I can do?

There's an App called MediaInfo, download it, it's free & a fast download with no added adverts or any of that rubbish https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo.
After downloading, right click on the media file in your Windows folder, open MediaInfo, choose Text from the options at the top, drag the edges of the window that pops up so it shows all the information & screen capture that page, post that image on here using the arrow button next to the smiley at the top of a new comment 👍

Since IOS 17 upgrade on iphone 11, opening MOV file requires HEVC video extension in PC (Win10)
I think I read somewhere that Vegas has it's own built HEVC extension.. but you could try this.

A sample file shared on a site like Google Drive might help, people here can test it on their PC's & give better advice 👍.
I still have VP18 installed on my computer. I would be happy to try a native sample, that is uploaded to the cloud, and report back my results
