this is not a question, I'm not a professional but I just found that the MP3 reading problem can be solved in a very simple way, do it with Vegas closed:

just go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\ and search for VEGAS Pro folders. Then 3 different folders will appear; delete all of them.

This is what I did and it worked, now I can use MP3 files on my projects as usual :) don't worry about the deleted folders, they auto-generate again so you aren't messing up any data I guess. I don't know why this works, but it does!
