The d3d9. dll file is an essential component of the Microsoft DirectX software development kit (SDK). It plays a crucial role in rendering graphics and providing advanced multimedia capabilities for Windows-based applications and games. It is not part of Vegas but Vegas needs it to work. I would suggest you undertake a file integrity check of your system files in case you have a corrupt file or files.

How do I run a SFC command?

In the Command Prompt window, type “sfc /scannow” and press Enter. Wait for the scanning process to complete. If the tool detects any corrupted or missing system files, it will attempt to repair them automatically. Once the scan and repair process is complete, close the Command Prompt window.

It maybe your DirectX installation is broken, try reinstalling Direct x (latest version).

Thanks to andyrpsmith for finding the solution. Stopping GPU Tweak III and Vegas loaded fine. 😃
