VEGAS PRO 20 Build 411: No menu for Random Transition & Pan/Zoom

J-Vid wrote on 11/13/2023, 7:22 AM

Please help, I recently updated to VEGAS PRO 20 Build 411 to resolve the issue with the previous build not starting unless internet was disabled. The new building works but I noticed while trying to create a manual picture slideshow I could no longer find the option to apply to all the selected slides both random transitions and random and pan/crop. I'm sure there was this option before but can't remember how I to used to get to the option. I used to select all the clips and right click on a clip then find in the menu the option for transitions and pan/crop. If I had know the new build 411 would have removed this option I would have kept the older build and just delt with disabling the internet.

@J-Vid I don't see any difference between VP19-VP20?

Looking at VP20 B411, it is the same as it's always been. The only thing in the Effects tab is choosing your Effect, which is basically Transitions. No Pan/Crop options.

Go to Insert>Slideshow

Under settings for the slideshow (the second image in Gid's post) you can change 'Random' to 'Random with pan and zoom'. Is this what you meant?

Thanks for the replies. To clarify, I was trying to find the options outside of the slideshow menu. Reason is when I use the slideshow my portrait size pictures get cut off at the top and bottom. I'm guessing the slideshow UI only requires the use of landscape size pictures. But to clarify before, I was previously able to select several pictures on the actual timeline then right click (I think on one of the pictures) then I was able to select from the pop up window menu an option listed for random transitions and pan/crop similar to what is seen in your slideshow screenshots. Sorry I can't remember what option it was in the menu and cannot find any info online. I know it was there as I used it a couple months ago on another slideshow and it just saves me time to select hundreds of pictures and have random transitions and pan and zoom features applied to each slide.

@J-Vid Are you sure it was Vegas you're thinking of?

Magix Movie Studio has that right click option but there's no Pan/Crop in that program 🤔

Yes, a clarification of which program you are actually using is paramount in giving you the correct information. Provide a screenshot of the timeline will tell us exactly what program you are using.

Or were you previously using a script?

Everything you're mentioning can be done with a script.

Yes, that is similar to what I was looking for and previously had with using Vegas Pro 20 (Previous build before build 411). If I could only download the previous build.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to try using scripts as a work around although I've never tried it yet.
