VEGAS PRO 20 DISGUSTING VISUAL GLITCH CORRUPTING MY PROJECT - ANY FIX?

EntertainmentAilment wrote on 12/19/2024, 8:45 PM

This problem started randomly 2 weeks ago. I've been working for some time on this gameplay footage and all of a sudden when I cut, I see these weird numbers and letters in each side of the cut sections (in the fade area), but it gets worse... the Master Audio slider on the right of the preview window turns blue or black and when I try to right-click a clip, the options I'm presented with are visible briefly, but it all turns into some white window.

After a couple more clicks, everything becomes corrupted, I'm seeing writing and icons out of place, I try to access the software's options on the top left, to see if I can reopen the project or save, or even access my preferences but when I click nothing moves. I get constant error reports appearing on screen forcing me to close the program and when I try to press X, the "Don't you wanna save first?" box appears but it's completely blank.I wasted a month's work in this project and when I started it all again from scratch, the SAME issue happened at a different part of the timeline. I open other projects, everything is fine when I edit on them but this particular one is CURSED.

This is the first time I have encountered such a nasty glitch, it's debilitating really. I had some issues with Vegas Pro in the past knowing how unrefined some of its features can be and other things [such as not understanding how my preview window lags during transitions knowing that I have a:

-RTX3080 Graphics Card (with my all my drivers up to date)

-32Gb Of Ram (12 being allocated to Vegas when editing)

-Intel i9 CPU]

But this MATRIX portal that's been opening up in my project and tearing everything apart has really made me regret spending 500 bucks on this.

So, since I haven't seen anything on the internet even remotely close to this problem I'm having, if someone could figure out what the hell this artificial demon is before I reinstall this shjt completely, I'd be SUPER thankful!

Is this the Nahimic Service driver conflict?

Hi @3POINT sorry I didn't realize. Unfortunately I can't edit the title now.

Hi @Former user I've read about the Nahimic thing but I don't think that's it, you should see how messed up it is in the video linked. The reason I think it's not this "Nahimic" thing is simply because I can't find it in the task manager. Is there maybe a way to locate it manually, through a file search? But yeah, I don't think I have that.

I messaged support, I'll be astonished if they won't be able to identify the problem too...

Correct, this is not the Nahimic issue.

Which build of VEGAS Pro 20 are you using? The screen capture demonstrates a drawing resource leak in the timeline which we have since fixed.

Hi @VEGASDerek, thank you for taking an interest in this issue. It says I'm on build 411 when I launch it (appears in the video) you can also see the nature of the error incident at the end of the video.

I had been editing the raw footage for way longer than the audio tracks I added a month ago (without any issues), but I have this feeling the mp3 files I recorded in audacity a couple of weeks ago could somehow be messing with it. In your experience, have you had mp3 files corrupt an entire project?

I've seen the vertical grid lines artifact'd like yours before from users here, but I must have misremembered the cause. ChatGPT says it's something to do with high dpi when I showed it the picture but chatgpt is often wrong.

Hello again @UltraVista, it's been days and I still haven't gotten an answer to what this glitch is or what caused it (I messaged support, no reply yet). And yes ChatGPT has proven to be unreliable countless times, I haven't personally used it but no, it's not a dpi issue as I've always had the same. This is a fairly recent problem that started maybe 2 months ago. I might just go ahead and reinstall everything... the problem is all that time and hard work gone if I do (I presume I deletes my project too when I reset everything to factory defaults)...

Your projects will be unaffected.
