Vegas Pro 21 Edit Crashes After Update Installed? Still on 108

Sandhill_Films wrote on 4/10/2024, 8:53 PM

Hey I am still using version 108 cause everytime I install any updates afterwards, the software crashes just before it starts with quick white screen then Contact Support Error and then closes.

Does version 300 fix this yet?

I had this crash when trying to update 208. It was infinite. My solution was, rather than to hit the button to install now, to hit the button to install after exiting Vegas. After that, I manually exited Vegas and I was prompted with the install ~10 seconds later. I think you'll need to do this workaround, or a full reinstall. A new version won't update anything until you get the new version.

Though keep an eye out for new bugs when you swap to 300. I experienced a massive amount of bugs (Vegas was nonfunctional for work. Needed to revert versions) that I see other posters here echoing. This seems to be a very unstable version.

Thanks so much for work around try. I may give that a shot. I will probably wait a bit before giving it a try and let the kinks get worked out.

@Sandhill_Films, I would uninstall and reinstall Vegas. You can download the files from HERE.

Scroll down a bit for direct links to the build you want. Then install.

As for the comment about "massive" bugs. Your mileage may vary. I haven't experienced any issues or "massive" bugs that are never really elaborated on in separate posts.

I wouldn't say there are massive bugs but there are some that significantly affect some users.

In addition to MXF files not working properly, here are the issues I found so far and workarounds: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-21-build-300-general-thread--145190/?page=1#ca909791

I have uninstalled and reinstalled from update but it still crashes upon software boot up. The interface turns white then I get the bell sound with error. I guess I should try to remove ALL folders associated with Vegas Pro 21 108??
