Vegas Pro 22 - LUT Filter + Color curves not working

Hello,

In Vegas Pro 21 when I apply two video effects: LUT filter (with LUT file) and Color curves effect I am able to modify brightness of footage by increase/decrease color curves.

When I want to do it in Vegas Pro 22 unfortunately Color curves keeps the same curve on the whole timeline. I am not able to increase and decrease brightness by color curves.

Do you have the same problem in VP22? Does anybody from Vegas team read these messages on forum and can pass this bug to Vegas developers` team?

Hello, I have the same problem: it seems like the color curve animation doesn't work in Vegas Pro 22. Changes to the color curve have no effect.

Yes, that's why I still use Vegas Pro 21. It is the basic feature which must work. Have you created a ticket to Vegas developer support team?

Which Color Curves function do you use? I assume the 'classic' original Color Curves OFX ? (not the Curves function from the Color Grading Panel one?)

I don't think it's the combination LUT filter + color curves. The problem only occurs for me with the 'classic' color curves animation (without LUT filter)

It has been already two months when color curves doesn't work in Vegas Pro 22. Vegas wrote to me two weeks ago that fixing this issue can last longer. I purchased Vegas subscription on August 2024 and I haven't render any video in Vegas Pro 22 yet because color curves is my main effect I have been always using in every Vegas project.

Can you help me how can I achieve the same result in Color grading panel? I have never used Color grading panel. Is it possible to add points with "hold" type (not linear).

I would like to replace Color curves effect into Color grading color curves but I must use points with hold feature. Is it possible to do it in Color grading panel? Can somebody share some short video where you present it?

I will be very grateful for your help.

The color grading panel has a section for curves. If you don't need animation, just use that. Select the event, then engage the color grading panel by typing the Alt+G combo. The CG panel pops up. The section on the right has tabs. Use the one labeled ColorCurves; then you will see the typical curve editor. No keyframing is available.

The color curve effect doesn't work right. It will not automatically create a keyframe nor show the adjustments as they are made. So...

New adjustments to the curve don't show any change in the preview, but when you then create a keyframe, the new curve is suddenly engaged in the preview. But then more adjustments don't show until you "create" the keyframe again by clicking the <>+ (diamond plus) icon. Very painful to try to adjust without seeing any change. It is possible to create multiple keyframes this way.

Even if you do need to animate curves, you can just do one of 2 things when using the curves in the color grading panel... if you need points to transition from one to another, split the event, on the left side of the split, have your curves points at the first point, on the right side of the split have them where you want them to go, and then drag the right side of the left event over the left side of event 2 to create a crossfade. It will gradually fade from curves setting 1 to curves setting 2. If you need an instant transition, do the same thing, but don't add a fade.

You can also use the lut filter on the input (or output) lut tab of the CGP.
