Vegas Pro 22 Speech to Text

SantiagoF wrote on 7/31/2024, 7:45 AM

Hi, I tried Vegas Pro 22 and it doesn't allow me to use the "Speech to Text" feature.
My question is... if I buy a new license can I use that tool without problems?
I currently have a license for Vegas Pro 18 and I wanted to try that feature in the 30-day trial of Vegas Pro 22 but unfortunately I couldn't... I hope that in the next trial versions they will allow you to experience all the features 100% before I put my card down to buy something.

Here's a comparison of what you get with each license or subscription:

If you really just wanted to try it and am not sure if you want VEGAS 22 you could do a 1 month subscription?

A lot of software include features that the software have to pay for to be included for each instance of installation. That is why you see some of features missing in trial versions.

Like the Vegas Hub. There are limits to the amount you can download, there limits to the Text to Speech and Speech to Text on how many characters you can use.

If you need more "refills", this is the cost. It also gives you an idea of why it's not included with the "free" trial version. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/index.php?id=15718&L=52#c285946

I just bought it, it costs 5 usd, it's nothing to try that function and see how it works with my voice, thank you very much

@SantiagoF

Speech to Text and Text to Speech is a Microsoft product - Azure. Vegas gives you access to this along with features to get/use the results in Vegas. It does not use your voice. You select from the available voices. If you want that capability, sign up for Microsoft Azure. Here is an article about building a custom neural voice. Not easy.

@john-brown, if @SantiagoF is using video (such as a travelog) with his voice, he wants to know how it will handle his voice.

Also, this is how someone would use text based editing.

@Reyfox

You are right of course, but @SantiagoF could have worded it differently, like, to see how well Speech to Text transcribes using his voice.

@SantiagoF

You can sign up for Azure and try out both Speech to Text and Text to Speech for free.

@john-brown I can't comment on how someone should word something. He has to comment (maybe English isn't his native language) on this if he is referring to his voice in video.
