I found the problem, in the media properties the source automatically sets itself to L/H 1080, how do I change my default settings so that it sets itself automatically like before because I can't change my square videos one by one

it was selected but when i unchecked it it made me see something even weirder and stretched upwards

Could you share an original graphic (make available for download)?

Depending on the resolution it might confuse VEGAS into thinking it's HDV media or something. VEGAS may need to be fixed.

As a workaround you can select all the pictures and change the aspect ratio at one time:

@Anvil Hi.

1. Open Google, top right is a sq of dots - Open Google Drive.
2. Drag that image onto the Google Drive window, let it upload.
3. Right click on the file on screen - Share.
4. A window will pop up, General Access - choose anyone with the link - Copy link.
5. Then on here in a new comment at the top there's a chain button, paste the link on there
6. Click Comment

I found a solution, I checked both cases in my preferences, and it's good, it resizes the media to the right format now

@Anvil Hi, MediaInfo says Aspect Ratio 1.000, but when I open your media with VP22 it shows 1.3333 as in your pictures.

I thought ticking the boxes in File IO as in your picture above reverts VP to the old so4compoundplug, the recent versions of VP use a newer mxcompoundplug, I don't want to change my VP22 so at the moment I can't check that .. but opening VP21 (314) it shows it correctly & that is using the newer mxcompoundplug ? Sorry this is beyond me 🤷‍♂️

Something is strange with MxCompound here. I saw the same thing the other day but just thought there was something wrong with my file (wasn't sure which ratio it was really supposed to be).
