Vegas Pro 22, Tiles and Text clip, text is now dark

charles-mcguyer wrote on 8/15/2025, 7:08 AM

Using Vegas Pro 22 (Build 250), on a Tiles and Text clip (track 1), the text is now dark and used to be white. It might be the background color affecting it. I just don't know. Where this is happening, all the Tiles and Clip are on track 1. A song is on track 2. That is all on tracks 1 and 2 (Tiles and Text clips and a song). On track 3 I have a few clips scattered along the length of the song on track 2. Where the clips are displayed on track 3, the Tiles and Text clips on track 1 display correctly (white text). When nothing is displayed on track 3, the Tiles and Text on track 1 is where the problem occurs. The text is a dark red color and should be white. Any ideas what I have done because this just started happening and was displaying correctly at an earlier time? Thanks.

Please share a screenshot of the timeline. Is it a muted track? Muted event? Wrong compositing/blending mode?

Here are two. First is the problem. Second is where it works correctly. Hope you can see the cursor. Nothing muted.

@charles-mcguyerย Best is to share screen shots of the whole Vegas UI and not a cropped screen shot of a part of the timeline.

This is the background causing the problem. How I changed it I have no idea but I should be able to fix it. Thanks for the replies.

Well, this is getting crazier. I used some of the AI plug-ins (AI Z-Depth, AI Smoothen, etc.). They created havoc and I removed them but it's like they are still there. It's not only affecting that one track but every track. And it's not pretty. Is this an issue? Is there a fix? Thanks.

@charles-mcguyer Could be that an effect/filter is on the entire track itself (Track FX). You need to show us the entire Vegas interface for us to pinpoint exactly what is causing you this issue.

I'd like to see the track header area on the left.
If something is effecting every track did you do an Fx at the output/preview bus or media level?

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I gave up and just started a whole new copy of the video. It's not worth wasting the time to figure it out. All's fine with this one (so far). I simply did too much ('what's this button do? & what about this?') with the other one.

@charles-mcguyer been there, done that myself. But I do like to find out what the heck I did so I do not repeat it in the future.

Reyfox, I clicked a lot of options. Next time I do that, I'll save before I click. Which I normally do but this time was different. Or so I discovered when trying to get my saved copy back. ๐Ÿ™
