Vegas Pro 23, brand new user/install, crashes at launch

Hi, I'm a long-time Vegas user, but today I was trying to help a friend w/ some video work, and suggested he buy Vegas Pro as that's the platform I'm familiar with, to facilitate easier work for me on his laptop. Vegas installed, but it crashes at program launch during the splash screen loading sequence. I've searched the forums for solutions, but haven't found anything. Sorry, I don't have the specs of his machine handy, but it's a reasonably new windows 11 laptop that's not under-spec'd for Vegas. Pretty embarrassing for me to have my friend plonk down $175 for software at my request, only to have it not even work at all.

Unfortunately the laptop specs are a starting point to finding the problem. So we need them. If it was a retail purchase and you know the make and model we might be able to find the details on the internet.

I'll get the info when I can. In the meantime, if it helps, it crashes at the point where it says "creating windows" during the splash screen loading sequence.

I wonder if its the Visual Studio problem and something needs updating on the laptop?

Thanks, yeah I did see that thread earlier, but it didn't offer a solution to the problem, at least not one I could understand how to implement.

If it crashes during loading with the splash screen, tell your friend to take a screen shot of where it happens. When Vegas is loading, it shows what is being loaded during the splash screen.

I've had some incompatible VST's cause issues in the past.
