Vegas Pro 8...

Will Vegas Pro 8 be able to import mini-DV standard definition video and edit it? Would it be wise to purchase it once it comes out, well a couple months after it comes out, and use it to edit standard definition video, and then keep it until I go Hi-DEF?

Barek, I'm confused... you ask a question about Vegas Movie Studio on the Vegas forum, now you're asking a question about Vegas Pro on the VMS forum. Are you sure which program you are asking about?

But to answer your question, yes, Vegas Pro 8 will edit SD video. As to whether it is wise to purchase it.... if you have the money, go for it. However, Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition 8 will edit Hi-Def video. So the real question is what features you need. Looking at the page linked above should help you answer your question.

If you're thinking about getting it, waiting 2 months is probably a bad choice. There are usually substantial upgrade discounts during the first 30 days. If you wait longer than that you'll probably end up paying a lot more.
