No, but I have tried to purchase the new Cinescore themes and cannot access my cart with a "HTPP 500-100" error.

As far as I know, it should be presented tomorrow at IBC in Holland and oficially released on the 10th - just my memory...

i'm still waiting to see official prices. :) Would be nice if it came out tomorrow. I could check it out sooner & see if there's anything that would stop me from upgrading (no presets, doesn't like my burner, etc).

I believe Ulf is correct but it would be numerically pleasing if they released it on the 9th.

Erm...

Mike. It's September today. Sunday is: (YY-MM-DD) 07-09-09 :-(

Actually, this being version 8, it would've been ideal to release it on 8-08-08, but we'd have to wait too long. =]

Mike. It's September today.

Thanks Alan. No wonder my wife doesn't want me helping my daughters with their math homework :-(

If I was releasing software, I certainly wouldn't do it on a Friday. Think of all the weekend support issues when only a skeleton crew is around.
rmack350 wrote on 9/6/2007, 7:21 AM
Then they should staff up that support line.
AlanC wrote on 9/6/2007, 7:25 AM
Them skeletons are useless. They can't even support themselves.

Whatever you tell them goes in one ear and out the other!

No bones about it, you are correct.

The Sony press release (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/news/ShowRelease.asp?ReleaseID=668&CatID=0) says "Vegas Pro 8 will be available September 10, 2007".

Tim, thank you! That's just what I wanted to know.

Hopefully, we'll be getting an e-mail from Sony shortly...? SCS...? Yes...?

JJKizak wrote on 9/6/2007, 9:05 AM
What good is it if you cannot access your cart?

I got an e-mail from Sony, as I'm certain you all did, that V8 would be available on Monday, but no mention of pricing.

DRAT!

I remmber last time there was the everyday upgrade price and then there was a better limited time upgrade price that came out a few days later.

"but no mention of pricing."
=================================================
Who cares!? I'll gladly pay what ever they decide... let's just get this show on the road!!! I want my V8!
UlfLaursen wrote on 9/7/2007, 6:08 AM
Me too...!! ;-)

"(MSRP) for the software is U.S. $699.95" is in the press release.

No mention of upgrade pricing just that it's available.

How do upgrades work for multi-version jumps (v5 to v7, v6 to v8)?
rs170a wrote on 9/7/2007, 8:37 AM
Jonathon, in the past it was always been the same price, no matter what version you came from.
Changes started with Vegas 7 though as it came bundled with DVD Architect.
As I recall, there was one price if you were upgrading from Vegas + DVDA and another (only slightly higher) price if you were upgrading from Vegas only.
Still didin't make any difference though if it was Vegas 6 or Vegas 3. The upgrade pricing was for all versions.
What will happen next Monday is anyone's guess.

HUH?

I see no difference in the upgrade price here if your Vegas came with DVD-A or not.

https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/shopping/item.asp?PID=416&cid=111&disp=1

Currently $250 but it was only $135 right after launch with the promo offer that was emailed out with a "special" URL. Every Sony forum had a post with that URL. I upgraded a $57 copy of Vegas 4 bought on eBay from a seller in **Madison**. There was also a steal of a deal on Cinescore.

I'm sure hoping they have a similar early upgrade offer.
rs170a wrote on 9/7/2007, 9:06 AM
Thanks Konrad. You're right,of course.
I was thinking about earlier upgrades to Vegas or Vegas & DVDA, hence my confusion.
All I now is that all our questions will be answered on Monday :-)
