Vegas Pro 9 - Last Chance for $184.95 Upgrade!

Thank goodness it's my last chance, maybe now Sony will quit sending me these emails every other day. And I guess the fact I that I've already purchased VP9 doesn't matter, everyone needs an additional copy right?

I don't mind getting Sony newsletter emails, which is why I don't unsubscribe.

Hmmm - Comcast must be thoughtfully filtering them for me. I regularly get email from Digital Juice etc, but have not seen anything from Sony for quite a while now (I did get the upgrade email initially though). I get tired of Comcast "helping" me (and no, it does not show up in the spam folder either). Anxiously waiting for the 9.0a release :-)

This upgrade offer is not the least bit enticing to me. Having purchased the prior upgrades from version 7 and version 8 for about $135 apiece, I was much more attracted to these since:

---they offered many more new features / functions than this latest upgrade

---they didn't crash while rendering as this new upgrade does

---the economy was a lot better when they were offered, and $185 is a considerable expense for upgrades each year or so.....

My point was more the fact that I've ALREADY purchased VP9 the day after it's release, and I've been getting these "last chance, best deal offers" very frequently since that time.

Point acknowledged. I suppose Sony could edit their mailing list every time somebody bought an upgrade to ensure that new upgrade purchasers would then no longer receive another "last chance" email. Seems like most publishers do not take this extra step, however.

A few days after I upgraded to V8 I got an email stating if I would upgrade they'd give me a T-shirt (or something of equal value...don't remember) so I emailed them twice to ask if I could have that wonderful gift....no response.

Other than the review window playing slugish V9 has rendered smooth for me, I also just sold my Vegas 8 to a coworker and tranferred the license by phone...I find V9 a little more stable than 8 thus far.....185.00 upgrade price as well as the free New Blue pak valued at $99.00 was very reasonable to me....

I'm subscribed to receive their offers/newsletters/etc. and I along with a number of others on this forum haven't been receiving anything. So I think what is supposed to happen is Sony is sending all of the notices to you and you are expected to pass them along to us. Did you check the "I promise to share news updates & offers with 3,000 other Vegas owners" box when you subscribed?

; )

I'm happy to "take one for the team", but if you all would like to send me your email addresses I'd be happy to forward these great offers on to you as well.

:)

Maybe it's because I bought my VP9 from B&H instead of directly from Sony? It's registered in the same email I get the Sony "spam" though, so idk.

Dibbkd, As did I, and I haven't received these mails since. Have you checked the "My Software" to see if the VP9 is listed there?

Yes, VP9 is listed in "my software" with my other old versions of Vegas.

Count your blessings, I get TWO copies of each e-mail.
