He ends his pointless article with
...And no, Sony Vegas Pro doesn’t match Final Cut, Adobe Premiere or Avid tit-for-tat yet…but it has taken a nice step forward (at least on paper).
-- Neither Final Cut, Premiere, nor Avid match Vegas or each other tit-for-tat either.

What is Janet Garcia talking about in the comments section?
...they added the sequence functionality you see in Premier Pro, so now you will be able to group tracks and have sequences within sequences.

I am NOT able to have multiple sequences in 1 .VEG project nor am I able to 'Group' Tracks.
Is she simply talking about 'Nesting'?

Sounds to me like another pointless waste of bandwidth even reading the drivel from places such as these.

Yes, V9 is moves us closer to the rest of the pack in some ways. No it's not the same as them and they are more like one another than Vegas is to them as a whole, still. So what though. Editing is editing no matter what tool you use to do it, including scissors.

I enjoy using Vegas and I enjoy using Ppro. I dread the day they're both exactly the same.

Same here, as that's the day they all STOP getting better.

I think articles/reviews such as this are just a ploy to be able to use 'Keywords' & generate more traffic to their sites. Imagine my disappointment of hoping to be 'educated'.

It really tripped me out to see Janet Garcia's user comment:
...they added the sequence functionality you see in Premier Pro, so now you will be able to group tracks and have sequences within sequences.
IDK what version of Vegas Pro 9 she's using... but she's so far off base that it throws the full credibility of the writer & site out the window.

For my workflow... there is NOTHING I can do in any single NLE that I can't do in another.
Naturally, I can do some things quicker but I think my style of editing is NOT locked to any single NLE.

I use vegas because it's not like the others.

Just finished a job for a commercial project & it's on many media sites (I consider ~12 many). I was chatting with the client while having several instances of Vegas open & trying different things that might improve the video, one rendering while editing another (three instances total), uploading copies for approval. Whole thing in vegas except making an alpha map in two png's (easier to free draw with the laso vs curves in vegas.

Anything that takes me away from that kind of freedom & flexibility will get me to stop upgrading right away. I haven't tried 9 yet but I don't like the idea of having to change the default interface to the kind that I bought vegas for. I'll deal with that for now.
