Hello all, I just recently went from Vegas 7 to Vegas Pro 9. All the footage I deal with is HDV 1440x1080 at 24p (23.976 fps). I always do a pull down on the footage separately before I edit in Vegas. Then, I simply edit and render the footage as a video only MPEG2, DVD ready file. In Vegas 7, this process is seamless and works very well. Unfortunately, in Vegas Pro 9, when I attempt to render, it starts for a split second and then I get an unknown error from the program.
The only way I have managed to resolve this problem is to change the output type to MPEG2 instead of DVD. Also, it's default setting now is to insert a "3-2 pulldown", which I don't want because I already removed the pulldown on my footage. When I change the settings to 23.976p it results in "slow" footage, almost jerky-like. I have no clue whether this is because of the MPEG2 output or 23.976p setting changes.
I would love to just save a DVD MPEG2 24p video file like I used to. Also, I do have DVD Architect installed and the old Sony Vegas 7 is still installed. I have no trial versions either, all full versions. I'm wondering if this is a bug? I hope not. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
