Under file>properties>audio. Change it there.

That's great @DMT3 it works, thanks. I didn't know that it would change the record to track quality too, couldn't find anything about it in the manuals. Maybe it is there.

One more question.

Could you please take a look at the attached screenshot? I'm encountering an issue where my 'line in' audio isn't appearing as an available audio source while recording the screen with Vegas Capture. It only displays the speakers (output), not the input. I've ensured that 'line in' is set as the recording input both in Windows (10) and within Vegas itself. However, it still doesn't appear in the VEGAS Capture window.

Any insights on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
VMP

I use an M-Audio device and it does seem to work. Although, I don't use Vegas Capture. I use OBS. A couple of things to try maybe, make sure that nothing else is using your audio device. Vegas likes to latch onto devices. Check windows and change it to another device if it is using your Xfire. Also, make sure you have selected this device under preferences. I don't know if these will help. You might need to start a new post to get more responses to this problem.

Ah, hm, strange indeed. Yes, I have set it in Preferences: 'Default audio recording device: Line In'. The track itself records fine, but Vegas Capture doesn't seem to recognize it.

Thanks for introducing OBS screen recording software; it looks like a nice capturing software. I'll look into that. I would like to make some tutorials, and I'm wondering if it's possible to include myself via webcam projected in the corner (in a round shape or something similar) while I record the screen.

Alright I shall post a new thread soon if the responses are less here.

OBS has a minor learning curve, but it is free, very widely used, and quite flexible in formats. I can't say for sure about including yourself, but judging from what I have read, I imagine that it can. Do some searches here to determine the best format to capture in. That seems to be one of the gotchas in using OBS and Vegas. Once you get that right, it is very good at what it does.
