Vegas Pro controlled by your tablet

Basic video (cuts) editing can be a lot of work, even with Sony Vegas Pro. I believe basic editing can be more efficient and comfortable with less user actions. Using a tablet for basic editing is my latest experiment to improve my editing workflow.

I made a ” remote” for your Android (f.i. Nexus 7) or iOS (f.i. iPad) tablet to control basic (cuts) editing with Vegas Pro.

I added a video to my website for an impression what you can do with it.

Ok, here are some questions - 1) This ? is meant to compete with the built-in iPad app of VegasPro Version 13? Better, or worse?

2) How does the app on tablet communicate to the PC? Need wifi antenna port on the PC? OR? Network is attached to a wifi hot spot?

Thanks

This is interesting.

The lack of Android support is one of the major reasons why I didn't upgrade to 13. Even if they come out w/ Android support, the upgrade discount has passed so I'll likely wait till 14.

But, Pls keep us posted on the progress.

I don't think the intention is to compete and the functionality is different too.

I don't see any reference in this to how the tablet communicates with the PC - and what setup is expected.
I do see this competing with VegasPro13 built-ins and it would appear to be simpler and perhaps less desirable at the same time.

Are we waiting for SCS to get on the Android bandwagon as many of us requested during Beta?

The functionality of my "program" is different of the Vegas 13 app from Sony.

My program acts more like a remote control for Movie Studio or Vegas.

Your tablet sends keyboard shortcuts and sequences of keyboard shortcuts when you press a button on your tablet. Movie Studio or Vegas Pro don't see a difference between direct typing shortcuts on your computer keyboard or keyboard shortcuts from your tablet.

See the video on my website.
Your PC with Movie Studio or Vegas Pro must be on the same (WiFi or wired) network as your tablet.
Try it, installation instructions are in the readme file in the download.
