Vegas Pro Edit 15 GPU acceleration - what specs are most important?

Just a newbie Vegas Pro Edit 15 user here. I've been using Cyberlink PowerDirector for a few years. It doesn't seem to utilize GPU acceleration and I saw that Vegas Pro 15 does. I have an i7-4790K CPU, Windows 10 64-bit, currently an EVGA GeForce 950 SSC GPU. Having read a bunch of posts about NVENC I'm considering upgrading my GPU to a Pascal-based, perhaps GTX 1060. GPU specs are all over the map so I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what GPU specs are most important in improving GPU-accelerated rendering speeds-

- # of CUDA cores?

- amount of video card memory - 2GB, 6GB, etc

- GPU speed (base-clock)

BTW I have no interest in gaming - the machine's primary purpose is editing skydiving videos.

Thanks for any and all opinions!

Hi, from my testings rendering with QSV and VP15 (i7 6700k) finished a bit faster and a bit sharper than with a gtx1070.

Your 4790k should render well using its QSV chip.
