Vegas Pro high resolution GUI support?

I am running Vegas Pro 13 and recently purchased a new Lenovo t450s laptop that I'll be using with Vegas on the go now and then. It has a 14" IPS matte display which is 1920x1080 resolution. Vegas doesn't not handle this resolution well on this size display.

When the program first opens it's not full but in a window and you can't directly maximize you have to "restore down" and then maximize, a two-step process.
And after it is maximized the icons and such of the GUI are very small and the bottom quarter or so of the letters above the toolbar are cut off.
I've tried various Windows 8.1 settings to help but nothing is provides a satisfactory result.

My question. Does Vegas Pro 13 handle high resolutions any better than Vegas Pro 12?

BTW the t450s performs really well with Vegas. I got the lowest processor, the Broadwell based 5200u with the 5500 series Intel integrated GPU. It renders the old Sony press project to the XDCAM EX 60i 35mpbs template in 173 seconds and stays above 20fps when previewing at the Good/Half setting. Very usable. I have it set to with the operating system on a Transcend 128GB m.2 SSD and data on the 500GB mechanical hard drive. I bought this latptop mainly because I had to have a matte IPS display.

I've been running Vegas at 1920x1080 and above for years, I keep the text size setting in Windows at 100% and I have had no problems whatsoever.
