Yeah, I saw it in demo of AE and that option looks ridiculously easy to work with.
Figuring that we just got the multiple tracks for PSD layers (photoshop), I don't expect the RotoBrush in Vegas for some time....but that is just my 2 canadian cents :)

I sure hope they are not looking into it.... Vegas is an editor not a visual effects program,,

They already have many visual effects added. I look at it as a plus not a negative. The more options the better. If you don't want it....don't use it..

I look at it as wasted time spent on bells and whistles and I need a solid editor

SCS should consider splitting Vegas in to two branches: Vegas Editor & Vegas Effects. The Editor could stay as it is, adding more support for formats, more editing features, etc. & Vegas Effects could go with more FX options like rotoscoping, keying, text, 3d, etc.

Lower the price by ~$200 & sell each separately ($400 each) @ the lower price or together for an extra $100 on top of what there is now ($700). Include DVDA with Editor.

That would be awesome!

Hi,

I hope that Vegas will allow me to compose 15 seconds of marketing movie in contemporary standard. It doesn't mean that Vegas has to lose his effectivenes in composing long files with simple cuts.

30 years ago I had 8bit CPC Amstrad-Schneider and some graphic apps for this computer. I have to admit that Vegas has to learn a lot from this oldboys in terms "how to create a 2k code to select or mask part of picture".

Best regards,

Since Adobe brought Serious Magic, I've been expecting more tools like Roto Brush. Serious Magic team was really a good programming team with a solid understand of color science. Wish SCS could have acquired them but Adobe definitely needed them to advance the video line.

TheHappyFriar - Thats not a bad idea. I still want a roto brush style effect though. The more the better in my book. I may have the need for something different as my clients request. Nothing wrong with Vegas having both a solid Editor & Effects program. Combined or separate, I don't care as long as they can work seamlessly together.

I'd just add AE to your toolset. There are lots of things about it that make it a very useful tool to have, and it can be had for a decent price if you look (sub $700) from reputable ebay sellers.

Oh my....I was thinking of the same thing back then. I jump on Serious Magic bandwagon 5years ago. I still use Visual Communicator for stills.

Now after updating my computer Ultra doesn't work. No support from Adobe. I was hoping Sony by out serious magic team before Adobe did.
