Vegas pro slow preview after second screen

I've been working with Vegas Pro 21 with an Asus i9 laptop for months without any problems. It's just the laptop's OLED screen, nothing else. (120hz 384ox2160)

However, since yesterday I bought a additional curved 34" 4K monitor (100hz 3840x1600) because it's more comfortable to work with. I also bought a hp USB dock 280w. Since then, the entire Vegas preview screen has been incredibly slow.

Both screens are connected to the intel xe graphics card, but i also have a better and stronger 8gb geforce 4060 gpu inside my notebook. That gpu is used for gpu acceleration on the preview screen

I could edit the same MP4 videos as a week ago easy at 30fps. Now it maxes out at 10 to 15fps, and I haven't changed anything except adding an extra monitor and a USB dock that plugs into the Thunderbolt.

- Does the preview screen's fps drop when you connect an external monitor via HDMI? I find it really bizarre.

I haven't seen any drop at all with my ASUS 13th gen i9 laptop and RTX 4060 GPU over HDMI. What if you disconnect the USB dock and just connect the monitor?

I think i have reduced the lag and slow FPS in preview screen by deleting some shadow effects in texts.

After i uncheck the shadows the whole preview is much faster and goes between 24fps/29fps with 29 fps video.

So, a lot better i think!! When i delete a composition mask (for cinematic view = black bars bottom/top) then it stays steady at 29fps. But i definitly needs the black bars :)

Also always when i add some animated texts to the video the preview is just lagging. Are there no other options for text without lag?

That sounds like the cause- I've seen delay with Fx and animations added to text. I suppose you can make temporary previews using shift + b or pre-renders with shift +m but those are workarounds rather than solutions. Really the titlers in VEGAS need to be modernized.
