vegas pro vs studio 7

Hey guys
I have "vegas movie studio platinum edition 7" and have recently purchased "vegas Pro 8".
My questions are,
Do I need to un-install movie studio platinum edition 7 before I install the Pro 8.
If not, is there any advantages to leaving the platinum edition 7 on my computer with the pro 8?
and is there any obstacles I need to be aware of when I install the Pro 8
Thanks

You can probably leave studio 7 installed. If the project files for studio 7 are .veg files then you should make backups before opening things in VP8. I'm assuming Vegas Studio can't open VP8 veg files.

Better check the other posts on the render crashes I and others have had with the "pro".

I should have stuck with VMS6 as it worked. You may feel the same & want to re-use your VMS7. I also don't think your files will backward convert so say a prayer if you have a deadline. I missed mine.

Good luck.

You can use the NewBlue effects that come with Movie Studio 7 in Vegas 7 if Movie Studio is installed. I do not know if these plug-ins works with Vegas 8.

Yes, the NewBlue FX that ship with Vegas Movie Studio 7 work well in Vegas 8.
