vegas project rendered as WMV

I need some assitance. I have a demo vid that is rendered for the web as wmv. Its bad enough one has to have a low bit rate but I notice, on transitions, there is a distinctive blur before it crisply goes back in focus.

How can I avoid this ? I see other wedding demo's streaming and they do not bur like that, they just transition as I expect. Any thoughts ?

Hi, I'm failry new to Vegas (5.0) but I've rendered several vids for the web in wmv with transitions galore and have never had this problem. I always set it at "best" quality and leave the defaults. Hope you find the problem.

I had this issue on a slide show I was putting on the web trying to use quicktime but with the same results (blurry transition which ultimately focuses)

The process I went through was finding the right transition, making the transition as short as possible and experimenting with bit rate until quality was acceptible and the video not too large for most users.

For a 10 minute file I believe I ended up with about 15MB, used a disolve transition and only had about 1 - 1.5 seconds of dissolve.

Good luck

So my "crossfades" may be too long ? I didn't even think they were as long as a second.

My bitrate is as high as I can make it and still keep it on the web (certain restrictions) I think its 5 minutes long and about 14 meg

any other thoughts ?

Ultimately I went to procoder express. This helped the quality and was easier to use (given that I really do not or rather did not) understand how to make it work.

Canopus has a trial version of procoder 2 on their web site which I used. The results made me buy Procoder Express (similar features but $60 rather that $600.

My results are available at www.mustangbandimages.com look at the 2003 slideshow

Good Luck
