Vegas Roxs!!

I'm still in love with this program ..

I'm still finding new ways to do stuff . .

Just completed a 20 min project that I shot over 4 months, consisting of 23 miniDV tapes and some 1,300 captured events.

Using the urgent and direct approach that Media Manager and Trimmer gives me, I was able to "keep-the-story-live" . . .

Bottom line? Client loves the finished piece, it and will be screened at the British Library, in London, mid-June. Went yesterday and saw it on their big screen ... whoaaa .. is that a trip! I want more of this .. oh yes!!

I couldn't have done this without Vegas! AND you Guys 'n Galz!

Some New and Ole BUDDIES were . .

* Shift+M is my new favourite quickie Previewing

* Media Manager > Trimmer > Scrub Plop onto Timeline is my preferred slippery slick slap!

* The ole Colour "ClipBoard" Correction technique came back into play

* Voice Over in Excalibur

* Fades over markers is "hit" - Sissssss ... HOT!

* Using "another" Vegas instance as a "Scribble" pad of ideas . .

* FOLEY/sounds work from the Sony LOOPS . . .

* Totally BIZZARRE +1,000X fast-mo for people stacking shelving!! Massive motion blur.

* Colour Curves -THANK YOU GLENNCHAN!!

* Single-Event Multi Track Audio repairs!!

* Reverb FX!!! Used this on ghostly interview OVER-DUB as "Hopes 'n Wishes!"

* AKM Music . . !!!

. .just thought I'd share . . with a BIT of luck the organization that has commissioned me WILL have a website up and running and I'll be able to point you at the work.

Grazie

Congratulations, Grazie. I can remember a few years ago when you first entered the fray and I was a little "puzzled" by some of your experimental work. But look what it's turned you into -- an accomplished professional! Meanwhile I continue to experiment and have fun and hope I can some day join the "Actually got paid for this!" club!

Hope you'll be able to post this latest one.

P.S. Glen Chan's film gamma color curve and his tutorial on levels has improved the look of my videos hugely. There's a young man who really knows his stuff!

Paul - thank you! And yes I remember too . .

"Actually got paid for this!" club! " Well, I don;t know about a club? But being presented with the options to do the work I do do, is challenging. I'm hoping this one will deliver "other" work. But who knows? At least with a "Club" you know just where the swimming pool is; where the jacuzzi is; where the Bar and dining room are situated. This particular "club" is the "only-good-as-your-last-gig" kinda club.

However, Hope Springs Eternal! . .and in the meantime I might be looking at a century Optics 2x adaptor for getting some English Wildlife on video.

Cheers!

Grazie

.. ps: the client informed me that he wants another/different title! Clients? Yah gotta luv 'em!! Bless . . .

It is a trip to see your work in a big space. That will never get old. Enjoy the ride and hang on.
