VEGAS self detection install setup?

This may sound like crazy voodoo to you youngsters, but it would be NEAT if Vegas detected the CPU, onboard processing GPU, and graphics card during setup, and set it's internal settings to be BEST possible for that gear. Like when to use and not use GPU for playback, rendering, FX, etc.

May sound like a lot of work but they did this sort of thing 20 years ago, so the concept is even more possible today. Sure, 20 years ago, there were only 30 options, now there are 3000, but our processing speed and space is way more now, providing a better way to do all of this.

NVidia sort of does this now when it optimizes games. Flip it, and optimize Vegas for the variety of hardware.

I know MAGIX can't purchase EVERY piece of gear on the planet, dont even bring that silliness up. BUT, it can have a baseline of good settings for the most common stuff. And a database of settings would be tiny compared to the storage of all the issue people have trying to figure it out.

This could eliminate roughly HALF the posts on here.

I've suggested in the past that they implement a benchmark system similar to Neat Video's, where it does various tests to determine the proper balance of hardware resources to use.

I do love how much Vegas lets us tune under the hood, especially those of us who mess with internal settings, but some auto tuning would indeed be helpful.

@fr0sty - Agreed, NEAT and also MOCHAPro has this, with a report on what isn't going where it should. We now need SMART VegasPro! 😎

If yah know what and how, good to go Tinkering. For those of us who don't.....😱

I could imagine an Advisor who, if requested, makes suggestions based on the hardware, the selected settings and the current project.
