I got it up and going. Don't have project now but soon to try it. Looks real nice. My wife is getting me the keyboard for Christmas though.

It's pretty easy to customize, too. Just hit the "Options" key and go to "Edit Keys." Then use the drop down menus and keystrokes to put in whatever shortcuts you want.

Marty's site (http://www.martyhedler.com/homepage/Vegas_Tutorials.html) has other suggestions, too, although these were written before Scripting was included in Vegas 4.0.

I find myself using the "minimize all tracks" and "maximize timeline" buttons a lot to see everything on multi-layer projects. I never knew these features were there until recently. Really helpful when I'm working on a laptop.

I couldn't get the second page to enlarge so was unable to see the size of your preview window. It looked a bit small though. Have you considered that there may be an advantage to previewing full size?

Very interesting post.

Thanks, Al

I don't have access to my website right now, so I'll try to fix the image link tonight. Thanks for the heads up.

As for the preview size, I normally preview to an external NTSC monitor. I only switch to the computer monitor preview window if I'm using the eyedropper tool, or to use split screen or clipboard tools. That's why it's so small.

A little confused how to get your setting file into Remote Keys--could you go through it step by step--thanks--looks interesting.

In the profile manager use the "import profile" to bring in the vegas key file. I'm at work right now and not at my PC but tha;s the best I remember.

1. Hit the "Options" key in the upper left of the default profile when Remote Keys comes up.

2. Choose "Edit Profile"

3. Hit the "Import Profile" button.

4. Navigate to or type in the Vegas.rkp file.

Done! You should be able to hit the "Options" button and pick "Vegas" from the menu. There's a way to get Remote Keys to automatically switch when Vegas comes up, but I haven't played with that yet.

Feedback welcome.
