Vegas Sony Sharpen Plug-In Defective ???

Why is it that even when the amount of sharpness is set to 0.000, this filter still applies sharpening to the image ?

I am trying to apply VERY SUBTLE sharpening to a commercial project, and am getting frustrated with the Sony Sharpen plug-in.

when you have the sharpen filter in a project - have the scope open and look at the Histogram.

The file will go from 16-235 to 0-255 even with the filter set to 0.

Odd ..

I suggest using the unsharpen filter instead if you want more control ..

Unsharp Mask is different in result. It sharpens the edges whereas Sharpen sharpens details.

I often use Sharpen set to zero. What I do to have control over this zero-setting is - I apply same event a second time in a track below and then I adjust the opacity of the event with Sharpen filter applied. Works well.

Also, make sure you don't have keyframes you don't want there. I almost always forget about the keyframe at the first frame. :)
