Vegas UAD-1 feature or bug?

If you take a recorded track, say a mono bass guitar track, with a single UAD-1 compressor plugin (LA2A or 1176 say) and then render that to a mono .wav, now load that into the test project, and flip the phase of it. For most other plugins (Waves RComp for example) the original and the rendered audio will cancel one another out when they hit the master buss.
However this isn't the case for the UA plugins.
Funnily enough, if you use a UA Pultec EQ, they will cancel.
Is this because of some delay compensation strangeness?

I've done some more testing and found some interesting results.
If you recreate the test I provided above (render a single track with a UAD-1 DX plugin in V5.0d and then play them both back with one out of phase) they don't cancel which means there's some delay compensation issue.
However, if you render a new file using these two tracks, the output IS = 0, or silence, so the render is compensating while the real-time playback is not. (However, as I said the Pultec is perfectly compensated for during playback and render).
I then tried V6.0b and got the same results with the DX UAD-1 plugins. However, I then tried this same experiment with the VST UAD-1 plugins and the plugins worked as expected. Perfect cancellation of the real-time playback and rendered tracks.
