Vegas - unnatural colors

Hi,

I took some pictures using my Canon A70 camera.
When viewing the pictures using InfraView/Internet explorer they look fine.
They look pretty good in the Vegas preview as well.
After rendering them to PAL DVD, the colors look too 'strong' and the pictures were a bit dark.

Did I do something wrong ?
I know I can use filters to correct the problem, but I wonder why it happens only when I'm using Vegas.

I'll appreciate your help.

Transcoding can sometimes shift Gamma, this is likely what you are seeing when rendering to MPEG. Bitrate can have influences on this as well.
You can try a degree of supersampling on the images while rendering to MPEG, you may also try the color curves to brighten it a little, or HSL to desaturate and raise luma a bit.

Thanks for the answer, but ...
I've tried some other NLEs in the past and their rendering process
didn't ruin the colors/brightness/contrast.
Isn't there any setting inside Vegas that eliminates this problem ?
