I had a similar problem with 4b. SF Support suggested that I not only uninstall my old VF2 and V3 and V4, but open explore and delete their folders and then reinstall V4b. For some reason, SF suggested it was XP related, it worked like a charm. Grob

I installed the 4c 184 on a computer running Win2K that has never had VV4 on it. I still get version 4b 174.

Now how do you expline that?

Guessing so...

Seems it could only be two things, either setup was using the wrong install file(s) in windows, or it could be the wrong file to start with that was downloaded. As the win2k machine didn't have VV4, ever, then there's little possibility of the wrong files on your hard disk being used.

At this point perhaps it'd be cool to email tech support asking for the ftp address of the VV4c install paclage to download it that way - doubt they'd publish it here for one and all.

Which machine did you download the file to? We stopped putting version numbers in the filename, and I suspect your machine is pulling an old version of the file out of it's back pocket when you try to download the latest version. Try downloading to a new name, and keep an eye on the download progress to make sure it's doing it for real. Also, there's the possibility that your ISP has cached the file or something.
