Vegas video 2.0 capture issue revisited

Hi all,

When purchasing vegas video 2.0 I was told by SF sales that
indeed there was a capture function in vegas video 2.0,
only for a 1394 card. Now that I've purchased it, I must
be losing brain cells, because I only find the capability
to launch an external capture program (in my case moto dv ).
In the words of the vegas video 2.0 manual " The vegas
video software package therefore includes an independent
Video capture application that can be used to capture from
your camcorder or other video source to your computer".
Anybody know what's up with this?

Hi David,

Nope, it does not have the cpu/ram meters at the bottom of the screen.
Well, that's another question I'll have to find the answer for....
Have Fun,

Thanks for the heads up Charles, now, can anyone shed some light on
the video capture question. Is there an app built into Vegas Video
that does capture (as the manual says)?

Hmmm. I tried searching the online help for this and the only place I
see mention of an SF video capture is when I go to the section about
opening Video Capture and and it refers to a Sonic Foundry Video
Capture (or other application). I'm not sure what's going on here
either because I do remember mention of that and a print to tape
feature.

"Sonic Foundry Video Capture" that is part of the Vegas Video web
download package. This is a separate application from Vegas Video.

You can also grab the capture tool off the Sonic Foundry website
(free).
