Vegas Video 3.0 content disc copyright question

Eighteen years ago, I purchased Vegas Video 3.0. The purchase included a content disc with royalty-free music. I used one of the songs in a video back then that I have since uploaded to Youtube. TuneSat submitted a copyright claim against me. Does anyone know what happened to ownership of that music from the Sonic Foundry days? Does Magix own it? Did TuneSat acquire the music or steal it from them and to extort money on Youtube?

As it happens, I am not concerned as I have absolute proof that I can legally use it. I am wondering whether or Tunesat is legitimate or if they are ripping off Magix (or Sony or someone else).

I have heard of people taking stock music and claiming copyright. Challenge the copyright with your documentation and chances are it will be dropped.

I posted the video last year and it was disputed. I replied offering my evidence. Their challenge expired after thirty days, thus, putting me in the clear. Then, I decided I'd rather have the video on my branded channel instead of my personal Youtube channel. I created a new channel but Youtube does not allow switching videos between channels on one's account. So, I re-uploaded it. It was challenged again. This time they disputed my evidence and because my channel was fewer than thirty days old, I was not able to challenge them.

In other words, I was flagged. I said I have proof that I can use it. They said they don't care and, because of Youtube's policies, I cannot, in any way, actually provide the evidence. The matter is considered closed.

It is stupid because it is the same Google account I have always used; however, the channel is new. So, I need to wait until the new channel is thirty days old and then re-upload it. It will get flagged again but I anticipate they won't persist because I'll be allowed to actually dispute their claim this time. It is all so stupid.

Because of all this, I am now curious if anyone knows about the ownership chain because, if TuneSat is ripping someone off, it would give me tremendous pleasure to see them busted. They absolutely know they are wrong to flag my video and are only doing so because I can't stop them.

Thank you if you read this far!
