Vegas Video 3.0 MPEG2 saved as DVD can't find encoder

I have the Pioneer DVD burner and it came with Sonic MY DVD software for authoring. I have captured MPEG 2 video from tape and cut it up into movie sections to use on the DVD,planning to have main menu with buttons connecting to each movie. I added effects and fades to each section in Vegas Video and I rendered each As DVD compatible MPEG2 files with DVD quality audio.
These files play fine in windows media player as well as Vegas Video and MGI Videowave. But when I try to import them into the MY DVD software, I get an error message saying that a suitable encoder could no be found. Any Ideas?
Thanks
