Vegas Video 3 capture with WinTV=HUGE FILES

Trepan wrote on 12/6/2001, 10:17 PM
I'm testing VV3 capturing with my WinTV Theater card through the svideo port and the files its capturing are HUGE! It looks like it is using the Microsoft YUV codec (msyuv.dll). I've got other codecs installed (PICVideo and HuffYUV) but I can't find where I can change this option. Is it within VV or through Win2k?

Thanks,
T

Unfortunately, you are unable to access these codecs in the sonic foundry enviroment. I do not know why, but I have no problems accessing them via free capture programs such as VDUB. For that reason I use VDUB for my analog captures. I did send a request to SF about this issue but did not hear back nor have I seen a way to access them. Clearly if you are going to capture via a bt8x8 board, the huffy codec is a must. I might mention however that VV and VF have problems accessing the huffy codec as you need to turn on a a "request RGB mode" option in the codec for VF/VV to work.

Possible that this gets addressed in a future version.

Thanks!
