Vegas Video 3 Manual anywhere??

Yes, I know it's strange but I've been checking through the Vegas 4 and 5 docs and they don't seem to cover the basics...

An acquaintance has decided to try Vegas 5 (moving up from studio 9) and he is asking for info on the very basics...I've been looking through the Vegas 4 and 5 literature and either I'm missing docs or the info is basically about the new features...So I'm guessing the Vegas Video 3 manual covers the very basics of the programme (correct me if I'm wrong..) Since English is a foreign language for him, it is important to see pretty pictures aswell as read the words so my guess is the first step can be the manual (I've pointed books and dvds in his direction but I'm not sure he will be comfortable with those at this stage).

So is there anywhere I can point him to where he can download the Vegas Video 3 manual (if that is the one that starts with the basics of course...)

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

You sure you've been looking at the full Vegas 5 manual and not the new features white paper? The full manual has the basics of the program similar to what I remember from the V3 manual.

Paul:

I have a copy of the Vegas 3 manual I got from the old SF site. It's an .exe file which is almost 9MB in size, which self extracts into a pdf, if I remember well. I will gladly email it to you, if you wish. I don't know if it has the *basic* information you're expecting though. It *is* a VERY thorough manual ( as are all of the Vegas manuals (Including the pictures)). Post a non-spammable (sp?) version of an email here if you want me to shoot it off to you

Phil

edit - like rique said, the V5 manual is very thorough, and since he is upgrading to V5, he might as well get it from this Sony site...

If he's looking for the "basics", have him look at the Beginner's Corner articles in my newsletters

You are absolutely correct...(hope you don't mind me talking from under the table...I just feel reeeeaaaallly stupid at the moment...)

Indeed the only docs I have downloaded with each new version were the new features documents and never bothered with the full manual (and consequently never thought about looking at the full versions at all = mistake number 1!)

I actually looked for the manual on this site before posting the original question...but was so tupid that I searched in the wrong place (ie, in the product pages instead of the download section) mistake number 2....

5 minutes fater the intial post I "discovered" the download section for all to befenit from (Imagine my suprise when I saw a full vegas 5 manual...*cringe*)

So all is well...Thank you so much for helping out and offering the solutions /sending over the Vegas Video 3 manual. I owe you guys at least a drink!

An Sony, my most sincere apologies for using up this space....

All the best,

Paul.
