Vegas video and sound fordge

perhaps this will be of help ???
i could not get sound fordge to open my VV captured files (
500mgs-12gig) SF would freeze ... from within VV i could
NOT get the sound files to open in SF when right clicking
on sound track and choosing OPEN in SF ...however if i
choose "OPEN copy in SF" all clips will open in SF once
they are open you can close SF and go back to the audio
track and right click and this time you can choose "open in
SF" and it will open ?? don't know why you first have to
open a copy ?? but i can now work on the sound tracks ...
this worked on ALL clips captured in VV capture whether
they were captured as Dv type 1 or 2 .

trying to work on sound using the VV sound FX i could not
just work on 1 sound track everyting i tried affected BOTH
tracks ...

all my clips are DV NTSC ..captured with Vegas capture..and i'm
working in SF with them ... again the only way i could get SF to open
DV clips was to do it thru VV time line ... right click on sound
track in time line and "OPEN COPY IN SF " ... after it opens the file
the next time you need to work in SF with same file you can right
click on audio track "open in SF " ... BUT once you close VV then the
next time you use VV you will have to "open copy in SF "" ... i have
opened up to 12gig dv files type 1 and type 2...without using VV i
cannot get SF to open the same files ?? i have to use SF thru VV
timeline ....

here is my system .. canon GL1 and Elura dv camera's....
using directX 8 , VV 2.0B official release, win2K wSP1, pyro 1394
OHCI , 2-80gig video drives are formatted NTFS, intel PIII
933mhz /256ram
..at first i was capturing my DV files as type 1 ..after talking to
SF tech i was told SF cannot open type 1 so i started capturing DV as
type 2 and SF would NOT open the clips UNTIL - again using SF thru
the VV timeline right click on audio track and "OPEN COPY IN SF" i
can open ALL my DV files BOTH type 1 and type 2 ...
in VV i use the template NTSC DV for new projects ..
