Vegas Video Instructional Video?

This is my first post and I'm a VV total beginner. I'm actually a total beginner at NLE. I have never used any other editing programs, so you now know how rookie I am. I decided on VV after reading nothing but good stuff about it. My question: Is there any kind of Vegas Video Instructional Video out there? Or has anyone made a rough video to maybe get a friend started? I have the manual and the book Sonic Foundry puts out, but I'm not a good book guy. I do better if I can see things explained visually. This looks like a great forum and I know I can learn lots just hanging out here. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Mike,

Welcome to the forum. I don't know of an instructional video specifically for Vegas Video, although it seems like a good idea.

Try the sample projects & tutorials (on CD in boxed version or available for download ). There is no better way than getting your hands dirty & the tutorials lead you through by the hand & show you some of the features that make Vegas great !

The "Digital Video and Audio Production — a Curriculum" book steps you through things step-by-step, but it's not a video. I agree that looking at the tuturial projects can be very instructive as well, if not slightly esoteric.

i was a total beginner in september
i bought 2 videos from sonic foundry
one basic and one advanced
it teaches everything you need to know
i still have questions from time to time, but this forum is great at answering them
also, i still watch the cd every now and then
call the sales number and ask for them
i suggest you buy them both if you are a total beginner
good luck

Excellent point, thanks for remembering those!

The Vegas ones are a version old, but pretty much all of it applies to Vegas 3, and are a fine resource for someone starting out.

Wow, I would like to thank all for their response to my question. With a support group like this, I won't need any video, but I'll check them out any how. Thanks!
