Vegas Video, streching video

When I import a 352x240 MPEG video, Vegas Video 2.0
squashes the video to about 352x240 and adds black lines on
the bottom and top, making it look like widescreen, but
with a squashed picture. When I remder it, it comes out
this way too, no matter what format. I was wondering how
to keep the original 352x240 and not have the black lines.
I have tried everything I can see that deals with frame
size. Please Help!

You can set your project to the media size (352x240),or
unclick the maintain aspect media property switch. The
former is probably better, but if you are using different
media types/sizes, go with the latter.
