vegas vs acid

Hi all.. I posted this on the Acid forum, but perhaps here is more appropriate:

Hello,
I see that Vegas is the definite choice if you need to record more than 2 sources at once. I'm just making music by myself-- at most 2 mics at a time. Also, I want to use no external processing... all plug-ins!

Given my situation, is there anything I can do in Vegas that I can't in Acid?
Thanks,
Jeff W

The product are quite different- you can always download free demos of both and figure out what best suits your needs.

Yup, that's what the other SF guy said. I already own Acid Pro 3.0 and was just looking for some opinions before I invest my time in trying Vegas. I will generally be recording 1 track at a time, so maybe I can get by with just Acid.

Does Vegas have/support better plug-ins? Are there any features in Vegas that I'll be missing in Acid?

Vegas does a much better, quicker and easier job of splittng, moving and crossfading, not just better than acid, but IMHO better than any app. It is more suited as a mixing/ multitrack( sort of) environment than acid, but either will work.
If you do a LOT of looping/ transposing then maybe Acid is better for you.
Where acid really shines is in creating music, by sticking together sequences or loops.
